Apokoronas

or in other words the “soul” of Chania… A unique and authentic cluster of 34 villages      scattered on the coast or in the valleys under the legendary White Mountains.

Just a breath away from Chania, the villages of Apokoronas impress with their unchanged traditional character. Every village radiates the true authenticity and “leventia” (gallantry) of Crete! These characteristic elements are orchestrated in the buildings that surround the   visitor, in nature, in the traditional olive oil mill, in the local gastronomy and of course in the local people.

Because it’s the people that introduce a place!

Every season of the year, the scenery changes in the villages of Apokoronas, forming a      different setting. The visitor has the chance to observe that it in the orchards and olive groves that bloom in the spring, in the fall with the explosive energy emitted by the olive trees and vineyards during the harvest season, but also in the distilleries where another “iconic symbol” of the place, raki, is produced.

Because local products are the ambassadors of a place!
